Location and Population
The Kumbewaha language is spoken by an estimated 3,400 people in the villages of Kumbewaha and Wajah Jaya on the eastern coast of Buton Island (Andersen 2006:7).
Classification
Donohue (2004:33) classifies Kumbewaha as a sister language of Lasalimu, but beyond word list data little is known about the Kumbewaha language.
